Huaxuan High-Tech Supports Offshore Beam Installation for Shenzhen-Zhongshan Channel, Ushering in a New Chapter of Tranquility for the Greater Bay Area!

At 3:00 PM on June 30, the highly anticipated Shenzhen-Zhongshan Channel, a mega-project in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, officially commenced trial operations. This monumental infrastructure serves as the new “transportation backbone” of the Greater Bay Area, bearing the crucial responsibility of connecting urban clusters on both sides of the Pearl River Estuary.

As a key control project of the G2518 National Expressway Network spanning the Pearl River Estuary, the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Channel is located approximately 30 kilometers north of the Humen Bridge and 31 kilometers south of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge. It originates from the Shenzhen Airport Interchange, crosses the Lingdingyang Sea to the west, connects with the Nan-Zhong Expressway via the Wanqingsha Interchange, and lands on Ma’an Island in Zhongshan City, where it interfaces with the Zhongkai Expressway.

The Shenzhen-Zhongshan Channel is a cross-sea corridor linking Shenzhen and Zhongshan, integrating bridges, islands, tunnels, and underwater interchanges into a comprehensive cross-sea engineering cluster. The project adopts an east-tunnel, west-bridge configuration. Starting from the Shenzhen Airport Interchange and connecting to Phase II of the Guangzhou-Shenzhen Riverside Expressway, it crosses the Pearl River Estuary westward, lands on Ma’an Island in Zhongshan, and interfaces with the under-construction Zhongkai Expressway. Access points are provided via connecting roads to Shenzhen, Zhongshan, and Guangzhou. Spanning 24 kilometers with eight lanes in each direction and a design speed of 100 km/h, it stands as the world’s most complex integrated cross-sea cluster project in terms of construction difficulty.
