
On June 8, 2022, the China Building Materials Federation issued Announcement No. 12 of 2022. The two association standards—T/CBMF 186-2022 “Starch-Based Water-Reducing Agent” and T/CBMF 187-2022 “Solid Polycarboxylic Acid-Based High-Performance Water-Reducing Agent”—compiled by China Building Materials Academy Co., Ltd. and other entities, were formally released and will take effect on September 8, 2022.
In commercial supply, solid PCE may be offered as powder or flake; product compliance should be confirmed against the applicable standard.
The Solid Polycarboxylic Acid-Based High-Performance Water-Reducing Agent standard, developed over two years, has garnered significant industry attention. As one of the primary drafting units for this standard, Wuhan Tapai Huaxuan New Materials Technology Co., Ltd. actively participated in related discussions and formulation work from the outset. Concurrently, the company’s powder polycarboxylic acid superplasticizer series, launched as early as 2020, has undergone continuous R&D improvements and technological upgrades. The products have now reached a mature application stage, with their overall performance and quality stability receiving widespread acclaim from customers.

As the first industry standard for solid polycarboxylic acid superplasticizers introduced domestically, it not only fills the gap in China’s standardization for solid polycarboxylic acid superplasticizers but also plays a crucial role in advancing the entire solid polycarboxylic acid superplasticizer industry and related application fields. This standard establishes definitions for the classification of solid polycarboxylic acid superplasticizers, general performance requirements, mortar properties, and concrete properties. It also specifies corresponding regulations for testing methods, inspection rules, product packaging, and labeling.
