PC-826E, which complies with ASTM C494 Type D reference requirements, is a slump retention polycarboxylate superplasticizer powder specially designed for concrete requiring long working performance.

Unlike general water-reducing powder that mainly focuses on initial fluidity, PC-826E provides a slow-release plasticizing effect and helps concrete maintain workable slump for about 2-3 hours under suitable mix conditions. It is suitable for ready-mix concrete, pumped concrete, high-performance concrete, and projects involving long-distance transportation or delayed placement.

Long Slump Retention Performance

PC-826E is designed for concrete that needs longer workability retention. Under suitable mix conditions, it helps concrete maintain workable slump for about 2-3 hours, reducing the risk of rapid slump loss before pumping, unloading, or placement.

Different from General Powder Water Reducers

The main value of PC-826E is not simply initial water reduction. Compared with general powder water reducers, PC-826E focuses on slow-release dispersion and later-stage workability retention, making it more suitable for long transport, hot weather, and delayed construction schedules.

PC-826E slump retention powder maintains concrete workability for 2–3 hours compared with general PCE powder.

Compatible Combination with Water-Reducing Admixtures

For concrete requiring both strong initial flow and long retention, PC-826E is recommended to be used together with KH-204 polycarboxylate water-reducing admixture. KH-204 provides initial dispersion, while PC-826E supports later slump retention.

Improved Construction Reliability

By improving workability retention, PC-826E helps concrete remain easier to pump, place, and finish during extended construction windows, reducing jobsite adjustment pressure caused by rapid slump loss.

Ready-Mix Concrete with Long Transportation Time

PC-826E is suitable for ready-mix concrete delivered over longer distances. It helps maintain slump during transportation and reduces the risk of concrete arriving at the jobsite with insufficient workability.

Pumped Concrete

Pumped concrete requires stable flow throughout delivery and placement. PC-826E helps maintain workability during pumping, especially when waiting time or placing sequence is difficult to control.

High-Performance Concrete

High-performance concrete often requires both low water-binder ratio and stable fresh-state performance. PC-826E supports durability and strength development while improving slump retention in demanding concrete systems.

Hot Weather and Delayed Placement Projects

In hot weather or complicated jobsite conditions, concrete may lose slump quickly. PC-826E helps extend the available construction window and improves placement reliability.

How is PC-826E different from PC-733E?

PC-733E is positioned as a general powder water reducer for concrete systems, while PC-826E is a slump retention type powder. PC-826E should be selected when the project needs longer workability retention rather than only strong initial water reduction.

Can PC-826E be used alone?

PC-826E can be used according to the mix design, but for systems requiring both initial water reduction and long retention, it is recommended to combine it with KH-204 water-reducing admixture after trial mixing.

How long can PC-826E help maintain slump?

Under suitable mix conditions, PC-826E helps concrete maintain slump for about 2-3 hours. Actual retention time depends on cement type, mineral admixtures, sand quality, temperature, and dosage.

Will overdosing PC-826E affect setting time?

Excessive dosage may cause excessive retention or setting delay. Trial mixes should be conducted to confirm initial slump, 1-hour, 2-hour, and 3-hour slump retention, setting time, and strength development.

The shelf life is 12 months from the date of production. If the shelf life has expired, testing and verification must be carried out before use.

Store in a well-ventilated and dry place. Measures should be taken to prevent moisture. Avoid direct sunlight. After opening, it should be used promptly. If not all of it is used, it should be sealed promptly to prevent it from absorbing moisture and becoming spoiled.

Standard packaging options include 25kg/bag or jumbo bag. Typical loading capacity is approximately 20MT/20ft or 28MT/40HQ without pallets, depending on packing and logistics conditions.

Before use, PC-826E needs to be mixed evenly with other dry powder components or pre-dissolved according to the batching system. The construction mixing and application should be carried out according to the specific requirements of the concrete project.

The recommended dosage of PC-826E is between 0.05% and 0.25% of the cementitious materials. The exact amount should be determined by trial mixing based on initial slump, target 1-hour to 3-hour slump retention, cement type, mineral admixtures, sand mud content, and ambient temperature.
